My gear gurus — Dave and Kraig — constantly listing Matador one among their favorite gear firms.
The Matador Freerain22 is an incredible pack at solely 300g (10.6oz).
I’d name it water-resistant, not submersible. It’s not a dry bag.
Not cheap (about $100), I purchased the Freerain to switch my final Matador packable which I had used for tons of of days of journey. Extremely sturdy and helpful.
It’s my second pack ➙ the one I exploit for a brief day hike, selecting up groceries, buying, and so forth.
I don’t want any extra body or suspension for brief day hikes. I sometimes push an additional layer down in direction of the lumbar portion of the bag — and that’s loads of padding.
